VET-AUTH

School of Veterinary Medicine - Faculty of Health Sciences - Aristotle University of Thessaloniki

About

The School of Veterinary Medicine at Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (VET-AUTH) was founded in 1950. It is one of two veterinary schools in Greece and offers undergraduate and postgraduate qualifications in Veterinary Medicine. The school is a full member of the European Association of Establishments for Veterinary Education Accreditation with accreditation status valid from 2021 to 2028. Over the years, the school produced a significant number of qualified vets dealing with the complexity of relationships between farm and companion animals, humans and the environment. The school is committed to excellence, equality and opportunity for all; students, faculty as well as farmers, and industry stakeholders that have been our collaborators. Several Staff members have leading roles in the coordination of national and international research consortia and knowledge exchange networks. This conveyed a multidisciplinary nature to School’s research vision encompassing productivity, health, welfare, reproduction efficiency and management of all animals. This interdisciplinary nature is reflected in the strength of faculty and external collaborators in areas related to all aspects and disciplines of veterinary medicine. The School provides contracted extension services to numerous farms, farm cooperatives and dairies. The school has designated facilities and the capacity to undertake experiments, clinical and field studies with small and large ruminants, pigs, poultry as well as companion animals (dogs).
